Earth Day 2010

This is an annual event which aims to call attention to the state of Philippine Waters particularly the dying Pasig River an tirbutaries.

Balikalikasan is a 250-km walk from Manila to Baguio by members of Halhalin Mountaineers in contribution to the 40th Celebration of Earth Day Celebration. The event will also highlight information dissemination of activities on how, we as ordinary people, could take simple steps towards reversing the the adverse trend of climate change. 

The event will enable the guests to commune with nature, go bird watching, bring their family for a picnic, listen to children's stories and plant a tree with Mayor Lim. It will also feature summer fair offering homemade desserts and native delicacies. Old books and magazine will also be on sale.

To highlight the campaign for clean air, a bicycle tour has celebrated Earth Day since 1998. Called the tour of the fireflies, it is an annual 50-km bicycle ride around the cities of Metro Manila.

Called Sandiwang-Isang Diwa Para sa Kalikasan, the event aims to bring together men and women of faith to set aside their religious differences and unite for the healing of Mother Earth.
