‘Trees for Life’ to plant 20 million seedlings by Dec.

MANILA, Philippines -- In just an hour, at least 10,000 trees were planted Wednesday in denuded areas in a watershed in Norzagaray town in Bulacan province, simultaneous with tree-planting activities in key areas in the country.

About 1,000 government employees, students, teachers, Army officers and Dumagat tribe members planted wild and forest trees in denuded areas of Ipo Dam, part of the 62,309-hectare Angat watershed that supplies water to Metro Manila via the La Mesa Dam reservoir. Read more >>
