IT'S THE HOUR THE WORLD UNITES AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING.
On March 27 at 8:30 pm, the lights will go off
for one
hour in the Philippines and all over the
world. It's called Earth
Hour.
Earth Hour 2010 is a global call to action to every individual, every business, and every community. It is a call to stand up, to take responsibility, and to get actively involved in working towards a sustainable future. People across the world will turn off their lights and join together in creating a vital conversation about the future of our precious planet. Earth Hour 2010 aims to reach one billion people in cities and towns all over the world.
In the Philippines, this effort is being led
by the World
Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Philippines) , the
Department
of Energy (DOE), the Green Army Philippines Network, and the SWITCH
movement.
Last year, the Philippines was #1 in participation
worldwide. Let's be #1 again this year!
To VOTE EARTH by participating in Earth Hour 2010, text the following messages to 5777 (for both Smart and Globe users):
First,

On the 27th of March 2010 at 8:30 PM, cities and towns across the world will turn off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – sending a powerful global message that it’s time to take action on global warming.
Earth Hour is a message of hope and action. Imagine what we can do if we act together.

Called Sandiwang-Isang Diwa Para sa Kalikasan, the event aims to bring together men and women of faith to set aside their religious differences and unite for the healing of Mother Earth.
To highlight the campaign for clean air, a bicycle tour has celebrated Earth Day since 1998. Called the tour of the fireflies, it is an annual 50-km bicycle ride around the cities of Metro Manila.

This is an annual event which aims to call attention to the state of Philippine Waters particularly the dying Pasig River an tirbutaries.
